Summer Program

Come explore with us!

There must be provision for the child to have contact with nature, to understand and appreciate the order, the harmony, and the beauty in nature…so that the child may better understand and participate in the marvelous things which civilization creates.

-Dr. Maria Montessori, The Secret of Childhood

Summertime at dms…

Looking to continue your child’s primary Montessori experience through the summer or perhaps acclimate a new incoming student before the fall term begins? Our Summer Program for students aged 3-6 is a great way to accomplish those goals! Each week, we will focus on a different aspect of exploring art and nature/science, spending a great deal of time in our wonderful outdoor classroom.

Our Summer Program is organized into weekly themes, which vary from year to year. Previous themes have been Big Messy Art, Little Scientists, Camping, Edible Botany, and Science through Art! The children spend most of their time outside, exploring the weekly theme, building forts, and running through sprinklers.

Hours

Regular Day Program: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Optional Extended Day: 8:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.

Our Summer Program fills up fast and is usually reserved for enrolled students, but we sometimes have space for children outside of our school. Summer enrollment usually opens within May or June.
